Tesco Backs Minimum Pricing for Alcohol

Big fucking shock.

Let's see, they no longer have to use booze as a loss-leader, no longer have to cut margins on profitable booze and know smaller shops would be unable to compete with them.

They may as well have asked "would you like to make more money and reduce the competition?"

  1. Oddly enough, I was in Tesco yesterday and picked up their in-house free magazine. Big article in it on their 'Stars of 2010' award ceremony and there, grinning at the camera, presntong the 'Mum of the Year' award, was our late, unlamented PM...

    So no surprise to see them courting the new guy.

  2. I think history will be kind to Brown - in that he'll be forgotten to many, which in his case is most definitely a kindness!
