Fast Food Drive Throughs

I'm not a big fan of fast food - the french fries you get, blech - but on occasion, needs must, but can anyone, anyone, explain why drive-throughs cannot get an order correct?

McDonalds. KFC. Whoever. Always get the order wrong. If New Labour really want to pursue employment for the current crop of kiddies, try teaching them to get fast food orders correct - after all, with the watered down GCSE's it's pretty much the only career they have to look forward to.

  1. Can I offer a suggestion? The majority of the general public who use these multinational outlets think they are above the poor sods behind the till even though a large number of the workforce are studying A levels or Degrees. Being subjected to a continual stream of scorn is not the most motivating environment. If I had £1 for every time I've heard a customer in a fast food shop ask the staff member "What do I want?" .. .. ..

Add in to the equation the ridiculous amount of regulation that the industry has to deal with and pressure from the company to keep staffing levels to a minimum to maintain profit margins and it's no wonder that mistakes are made with orders. It's no excuse, just an explanation.

I'm no fan of the large operators. I always go to one of the smaller, local, fast food shops where normally your food will be cooked to order, rather than pre-cooked and retained heated.
